# Vela: The Open-Source Charting Core by LuxAlgo

> Vela™ is an open-source charting library for the agentic era, and the core of Vela by LuxAlgo: native canvas renderer, headless core, full workspace, plugin SDK. Apache-2.0.

## Professional charts, inside your product.

The open-source charting engine behind the charts on LuxAlgo. The full trading terminal as a library, ready to wear your brand, with commercial terms published and self-serve.

## From npm install to a live chart, in an afternoon.

One package and one div give you candles, indicators, drawing tools and live data. Keep the whole terminal, or import only the layers you want.

```bash
npm install @luxalgo/vela
```

## The whole terminal, not a widget.

Synced multi-chart layouts, a full drawing suite, keyboard-first navigation and one saved layout that restores everything. What your users expect from a trading desk, shipped as a library.

- Synced multi-chart workspace: Crosshair, style and drawings stay in sync across every cell, restored from one saved layout.
- 22 drawing tools and an object tree: Fib, pitchfork, long and short positions and more, with undo, redo and an object tree that names everything on the chart.
- Live data on day one: Binance, Coinbase and Hyperliquid providers ship in the box. Or plug in your own feed, or render bars with no network at all.

Drawing tools include Trend Line, Ray, Parallel Channel, Fib Retracement, Fib Extension, Pitchfork, Rectangle, Ellipse, Triangle, Head & Shoulders, XABCD Pattern, Elliott Wave, Long Position, Short Position, Price Range, Date Range, Text, Callout, Arrow, Brush, Highlighter, and Gann Box.

## Your users’ Pine Script®, running in your app.

Traders bring the Pine Script® code they already have. PineTS, our open-source runtime, runs it on your charts, and your app reads each script’s state as it runs.

## Vela™ Pro: the interfaces desks actually trade.

Footprint and TPO charts and a full orderflow suite, built from the real trades your feed supplies, plus the LuxAlgo Library cleared for commercial use. One license, on top of open-source Vela.

- Footprint charts, native: Bid and ask at every price, straight from real executions: stacked imbalances, unfinished auctions and a per-bar point of control.
- The session, as it was built: Time Price Opportunity charts letter by letter: value areas, points of control, singles and poor highs.
- The LuxAlgo Library, in your indicator menu: The largest indicator library in trading, cleared for commercial use inside your product.

## Built for the teams that ship trading products.

- Brokers & exchanges: Your platform’s charts, on your terms. The full workspace under your brand, fed by your own data: bring a provider, or hand the chart your bars.
- Fintech & trading apps: Pro charts without a charting team. One package covers candles, drawings, indicators and live data. The plugin SDK covers everything custom.
- Prop firms, media & education: A terminal your members already know. The workspace traders expect, and the Pine Script® code they already have runs on it.

## Open by default, licensed in the open.

Vela is open source on npm with commercial terms anyone can read, where TradingView’s Advanced Charts sits in a private repository you are invited to after approval.

## Published pricing, self-serve.

Start on the open-source core. A paid license adds Vela™ Pro, PineTS and the Library for commercial use, and removes the attribution.

- Open source: $0. Apache-2.0, forever. Any use, including closed-source commercial products. Official builds carry a small LuxAlgo attribution mark.
- Developer License: $1,199 per developer per year, self-serve under $500k annual revenue. Vela™ Pro, the PineTS commercial license and the LuxAlgo Library for commercial use. No attribution, no per-end-user fees.
- Business License: $20,000 per year, for companies above $500k in revenue. Everything in the Developer License for the whole company, with the Business support tier.
- Enterprise: custom, on your paper. Everything in Business, under your MSA and data-processing terms, with the Enterprise Support & SLA tier.

Full pricing: https://velacharts.dev/pricing/. The open-source Pine Script® addon for Vela is licensed separately (AGPL-3.0); the paid licenses include PineTS commercially.

## Headless core. Batteries included.

Import exactly as much chart as you want: the bare data-and-render core, the full multi-chart workspace, or any layer between. Every surface is public API.

1. One tag, the whole terminal: Point the workspace at a container and ship: shared topbar, drawing toolbar, status line, object tree, bottom bar, keyboard. One chart or a synced grid, restoring from one persisted state document.
2. Or go headless: Prefer full control? The core alone: data model, engines, drawings, providers, and the native renderer, with none of the chrome. Pass bars directly and stay fully offline, or register any provider.
3. Bring your engine: Vela ships no scripting engine: install the addon for the language you want, or write your own against the public ScriptingEngine port. Pine Script® lives in @luxalgo/vela-pinets; hosts execute-and-inject with structured errors and read a running script’s state through worker-safe snapshots.
4. Extend the canvas: New price styles, new renderer layers, native indicators: the SDK is the one Vela is built on. A registered chart type appears in the style dropdown automatically, and its data engine pushes to its layer with zero extra wiring.

- `@luxalgo/vela`, the headless chart: Data model, scripting-engine ports, drawings, providers, and the native canvas renderer. No shell, no chrome: your UI, its charts.
- `@luxalgo/vela/workspace`, the full chart app: One chart or a synced grid under a shared topbar, status line, object tree, bottom bar, keyboard-first UX, and one persisted state document.
- `@luxalgo/vela/ui`, the component kit: Design tokens, overlay chrome, form primitives, and the KeymapManager: the same kit the shell is built on.
- `@luxalgo/vela/plugin`, the extension SDK: Register chart types, renderer layers, and native indicators. Registered types appear in the style dropdown automatically.
- `@luxalgo/vela/providers/*`, data included: Binance, Coinbase, and Hyperliquid providers out of the box. Or pass bars directly and stay fully offline.

## The easiest charts you’ll ever switch to.

Apache-2.0. Free, forever.
